Dutch Street Organs, Steam Boats and all things preservation, with a trip into Germany to finish it off….
Friday 25th May, leaving home early morning we travel around the M25 to Eindhoven where we check into our hotel for the next four nights following a visit to the parade of steam on the dockside.
Saturday 26th May Today we enjoy a full day in Dordrecht where we will have a Rond Ticket which allows us to travel all day on the boats and trains and vintage vehicles. A late dinner will be waiting at the hotel.
Sunday 27th May. Today you will have the choice of a second day at the show or a ride on the Hoorn to Medemblik Steam Railway and a boat trip on the Ijsselmeer with a light lunch on board before returning to our hotel for dinner.
Monday 28th May, Efteling Fantasy Theme Park. This is the oldest theme park in the Netherlands fully restored to date with a fantastic array of old fashioned rides along with carousels and organs and beautiful water displays…
Tuesday 29th May, today we travel south into Germany to Rudesheim for a visit to Siegfried Wendel Music Kabinett and dinner on the Rhine before returning to our hotel in Koblenz.
Wednesday 30th first a trip to the Schloss Bruschal where you will be able to hear the organs at this magnificent chateau before travelling a short way to Speyer and the mechanical organ collection at the Wilhelmsbau museum before returning to Koblenz in time for dinner.
Thursday May 31st sadly we back our bags for the return journey to the UK arriving back at Dover mid evening.
PRICE PER PERSON: £795 sharing a twin room and £950 in a single. Price includes all travel by coach and ferry, six nights accommodation half board in the hotel Mercure at Eindhoven, entrance to Dordrecht with Round ticket, Boat and steam train with lunch, entrance to Efteling, Willemsbau and Transport Museum Speyer, Bruschal and the Music Cabinet in Rudesheim. Incidentally, the entrance charges on this tour come to well over £150 at group rates, so if you would prefer to not take any I can deduct that charge, but there is nothing else to pay during this week other than lunches, drinks and spending money.
